The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians in California launched a free play gaming website and mobile application.
The website and app offer the same slot machines visitors can find at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
"We want to give our players access to their favorite casino content in as many formats and channels as possible," general manager Paul Ryan said in a press release.
Online gaming is not legal in California. Efforts to authorize poker have been met with division among tribes, whose rights are protected by their Class III gaming compacts.
The Unlawful
Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 outlaws Internet gaming
unless it is conducted pursuant to a Class III gaming compact or under state
law.
