California newspaper wonders what's going on with the Enterprise Rancheria casino because the tribe hasn't revealed much information about the Class II project:
We have to admit we're a little stymied and bemused by plans publicized recently for a mini-casino in Yuba County.

We're not getting a great deal of detail on the deal. The Butte County tribe that's been trying for 13 years to get approval for a really big tribal casino seems to be making some sort of end-run or workaround or jumpstart ... something. We're not sure.

What we know:

Enterprise Rancheria will start building a 10,000-foot casino in Yuba County, according to a report a couple of weeks ago by Harold Kruger. The "temporary" facility would host Class II gaming — bingo, pull tabs, punch boards, tip jars, instant bingo and other games similar to bingo — it can only do "nonbanked" games where players play against other players and there is no house bank.

That's quite a drop-off from the huge facility they originally proffered — a full-fledged casino and hotel operation utilizing more than 300,000 square feet and facilitating Class III gaming — pretty much any sort of gambling.
