The debate over federal labor law at tribal casinos moves to the House this week.
The House Committee on Education and the Workforce will take testimony tomorrow on H.R.511, the Tribal Labor Sovereignty Act. The bill prevents the National Labor Relations Board from imposing the National
Labor Relations Act on tribes and their enterprises.
The hearing comes a few days after the Senate Indian Affairs
Committee approved S.248, the Senate version of the bill, at a business meeting last week.
The UNITE Here sent its members to protest the measure and will have a representative testify tomorrow.
The hearing takes place at 2pm in Room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building. The witness follows:
