Navajo Nation to add Class III table games to New Mexico casino

The Navajo Nation will convert a Class II facility in New Mexico to Class III thanks to a new gaming compact, The Farmington Daily Times reports.

The Flowing Water Navajo Casino is located in Shiprock. The facility debuted in October 2010 with 120 Class II machines.

But now that the Bureau of Indian Affairs has allowed the compact to go into effect, the tribe will be installing Class III table games, the Daily-Times reported.

The compact authorizes a total of four Class III facilities. In addition to Flowing Water, the tribe operates the Fire Rock Navajo Casino near Gallup and the Northern Edge Navajo Casino near Farmington

Plans for a fourth facility have not been finalized.
