The California Legislature gave final approval on Monday to a Class III gaming compact for the Jackson Rancheria Band of Miwuk Indians.
The agreement authorizes up to 1,800 slot machines at the Jackson Rancheria Casino. That's lower than the 2,000 limit under a prior agreement.
The casino currently offers 1,650 machines so the tribe is below the new limit. The facility is the largest employer in Jackson County.
A copy of the compact can be found on the governor's website. It
will be sent to the Bureau of Indian
Affairs for review.
