The Oneida Nation of New York is hosting a grand opening celebration today for its $20 million gaming facility.

The Yellow Brick Road Casino is located in Chittenango, the birthplace of author L. Frank Baum. The 67,000 square-foot facility and its amenities take inspiration from the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

"We are excited,'' Oneida Nation Representative and Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter told The Syracuse Post-Standard. "This is a convenient, local, fun place to come relax and enjoy, and the Oz theme really adds to the flavor and atmosphere of this region. We had a lot of fun with the theme, and picking the names."

The casino features 430 gaming machines, a 500-seat bingo hall, a Keno lounge and several bars and restaurants. The gaming areas are open to anyone 18 and over while the Wicked Good Pizza, one of the eateries, will be open to all.

The casino debuts at 10am and will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
