Sandia Pueblo in New Mexico debuted a four-level, 1,700-space parking garage at its casino.
The garage boosts the total number of spaces at the Sandia Resort & Casino to about 4,000, The Albuquerque Journal reported.
It took 15 months and 600 workers to build it at an undisclosed cost, the paper said.
Stuart Paisano, a former governor, told the paper that “the economic impact to the local economy was pretty large.”
The garage is part of a multi-phase expansion at the casino.
A new spa and a golf event center are due to open in the next few months, the paper said.
The casino opened in 2001. It boasts the largest slot machine wins of any tribal
facility in the state, according to revenue sharing
reports from the New Mexico
Gaming Control Board.
