The Chehalis Tribe of Washington will break ground next month on a $40 million casino expansion project.
The tribe is adding 41,000 square-feet of gaming, food service and support spaces, 8,600 square-feet of administrative space and a 120,000 square-foot parking garage to the Lucky Eagle Casino. Construction will take 16 to 18 months.
"This is great news for the Chehalis Tribe and our surrounding communities," Chehalis Tribal Chairman Don Secena said in a press release. "We can't wait to get started."
In addition to construction jobs, the tribe will add 50 to 75 permanent jobs at the casino, The Bellngham Herald reported. The facility currently employs 720, the paper said.
