The Coeur d'Alene Tribe did not file a formal complaint against a non-Indian racetrack, a spokesperson said.
The Greyhound Park and Event Center accused the tribe of asking local law enforcement to look into the historical horse racing machines at the facility.
But the tribe said it hasn't taken any action, other than signing onto a letter that questioned the legality of the machines.
"We haven't taken any formal legal action," spokesperson Heather Keen told The Coeur d'Alene Press. "Other than send the letter to the governor, we have done nothing official."
Authorities in Kootenai County confirmed they are looking into the machines, based on a complaint reportedly received last October.
