Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) won his re-election campaign on Tuesday,
clearing a path for resumed Class III gaming compact negotiations with the
Seminole Tribe.
Scott almost reached a deal with the tribe earlier this year, the Associated Press reported.
It was never presented to state lawmakers because Republicans weren't sure how it would have been received.
But with Scott's party in control of the executive and legislative branches -- including a super-majority in the House -- a compact will likely emerge soon.
The tribe has reportedly offered to share more revenues in exchange for regional exclusivity.
So far, the tribe has shared more than $1 billion with the state.
