Snoqualmie Tribe still trying to recover $1.5M for casino in Fiji

It looks like it might be even harder for the Snoqualmie Tribe of Washington to recover $1.5 million from a troubled casino project on the island nation of Fiji.

The tribe invested the money in the One Hundred Sands casino after visiting Fiji in December 2011. The developer, however, never started work on the $155 million project.

The tribe sued in state court in Washington to try and recoup its investment. But Chairwoman Carolyn Lubenau said One Hundred Sands has sold its stake in the venture, meaning it could be difficult to hold the developer responsible.
