The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut is changing partners for its proposed commercial casino in Massachusetts, The Fall River Herald News reported.

The tribe announced plans for a $750 million Foxwoods casino in Fall River, in the southeastern part of the state. But the tribe is eying a new location after ending ties with partner Crossroads Massachusetts, the paper said.

“Foxwoods is in the process of changing development partners,” Kenneth Fiola of the Fall River Office of Economic Development told the paper. “Crossroads was the entity that filed and funded the $400,000 for the initial gaming application.”

Mayor Will Flanagan welcomed the casino but now he acknowledges the tribe appears to have moved on. He said the city is open to working with other partners on a commercial casino.

The tribe is reportedly interested in a casino at the Whaling City Golf Course in New Bedford.
