The new leader of the American Gaming Association tried to find consensus on a controversial issue but appears to have failed.

CEO Geoff Freeman took control of the AGA last July. In just a few short months, the organization's position on Internet gaming changed from one of support to none at all.

“It is not an issue we are focusing on, but rather letting others take the lead,” a spokesperson told the Associated Press.

The major gaming companies are divided on the issue, with Sheldon Adelson, the CEO of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, vowing to spend "whatever it takes" to ban Internet gaming in the U.S.
