Supporters of the Spokane Tribe
off-reservation are calling on officials in Spokane County, Washington, to end their campaign against the project.
The county has paid a law firm $300,000 in just the past 18 months to fight the Spokane Tribe Economic
Project. Supporters -- including the mayor of Airway Heights, where the casino would be located -- said officials should welcome new opportunities.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs has issued the final environmental impact study for the
West Plains Mixed-Use
Development but has yet to issue a record of decision on the project.
