Mary Burke, the
Democratic candidate for governor in Wisconsin, appears to be shifting her position on the Menominee Nation
off-reservation casino.
Last month, Burke criticized Gov. Scott Walker (R)
for delaying a decision on the $800 million casino in Kenosha. Now she says she wants to see the result of an independent study, the Associated Press reported.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs has
granted Walker a six-month extension to make a decision. He now has until February 19, 2015, to accept or reject the casino.
