The Seminole Tribe and Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) continue negotiations for a Class III gaming compact.
Talks began earlier this year, according to news reports. But both parties are keeping quiet about what might be included in a new deal. “We will take the time needed to get the best deal for Floridians," Scott's communications director told The Tampa Tribune. As of this month, the tribe has shared more than $1 billion with the state under its current compact, which expires next year.
