The Oneida Nation of New York is replacing all of its card-reading slot machines with cash-play machines.
The tribe is spending $15 million to replace an estimated 2,000 card-reading devices at the Turning Stone Resort Casino. This is the first time the facility will feature cash machines. "Beginning March 4, Oneida Nation Enterprises is unveiling new, state-of-the-art cash-play slot machines, converting the entire casino to the updated system providing players the convenience of Vegas-style slots that accept cash and eliminate the need to stand in line to load funds onto a card before playing as had been required with the decades-old casino system at Turning Stone," the tribe said in a press release. The tribe has agreed to share 25 percent of slot machine revenues with the state in exchange for exclusivity in its region. Get the Story:
