The city council in Grand Forks, North Dakota, agreed to consider an off-reservation casino for the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians.
Council members remain skeptical due to obstacles facing the effort. But they will help present the idea to Gov. Jack Dalrymple (R) and see where it goes. “If we don’t work side by side and step by step to pursue this, of course it will never happen,” Turtle Mountain Chairman Richard McCloud said at a city council meeting, The Grand Forks Herald reported.
