The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska
will debut its new casino in Iowa on Wednesday.
The tribe closed CasinOmaha in June 2011 due to flooding on the Missouri River.
A temporary facility reopened in January 2013 with a new name -- the Blackbird Bend Casino.
A permanent building is now ready for visitors. The official grand opening ceremony will be held February 21.
"It's much like a phoenix rising out of the ashes," marketing director Mike Krysl told the Associated Press. "We like to think of this as a situation where a blackbird is rising out of the flood waters."
