Wisconsin Gov. Scott
Walker (R) will be hiring an outside group to study the Menominee Nation
off-reservation casino.
Walker said an independent group will help determine whether to approve the $800 million casino in Kenosha.
"To try and sort through the numbers that each of the competing sides are talking about to try and really get a handle on what are the most objective numbers and how can we negotiate some sort of an agreement,” the governor told Fox 11 News
The Bureau of Indian Affairs
approved the Menominee casino under the two-part determination provisions of the
Indian
Gaming Regulatory Act. The final decision rests with Walker, who originally promised an answer last fall.
