The Mohegan Tribe of
Connecticut is celebrating the 7th anniversary of its commercial casino in Pennsylvania with a new hotel.
The Mohegan Sun at Pocono
Downs opened to the public on November 14, 2006. The facility began with slot machines and expanded with table games in 2008.
The casino keeps growing. The tribe spent $50 million on a seven-story, 238-room hotel and a 20,000-square-foot convention center that will double as a concert venue.
"We're going to be adding entertainment on a larger scale than we have in the past," Mike Bean, the president and general manager of the casino, told The Wilkes-Barre Citizens' Voice.
