Poll: Public wants disclosure amid Dry Creek casino concerns

Tuesday, August 13, 2013

Amid concerns about a hypothetical casino from the Dry Creek Rancheria in California, online poll finds a whopping 91 percent want more transparency in the land-into-trust process:

Here were some of the comments.

“Actually, more transparency in the process for taking land into federal trust for non-gaming purposes would be good too, since once land is taken into trust the purpose can be changed later.”

“Seems like an awful lot of hulabaloo about the casino. I can’t imagine more transparency there. The casino thing seems kind of karmic anyway. If it wasn’t a casino it would end up being another shopping behemoth where many other forms of unhealthy things are pawned off to the public. How about more transparency in government?”
