The Oneida Nation of Wisconsin expects to complete work on a $28 million casino expansion a year from now.
Tribal officials broke ground on the project on Monday. The main casino in Green Bay will see a completely renovated gaming floor with more space for slot machines, a smoke-free room and a poker room. The tribe is also adding a food court, three restaurants and a sports bar and grill to the facility. It's the biggest upgrade since the casino opened in 1993. “Today we take another giant step forward,” Ernest Stevens Jr.,, the chairman of the National Indian Gaming Association, said at the groundbreaking, The Green Bay Press-Gazette reported.
