A New Mexico man pleaded guilty to stealing from the casino owned by Santa Ana Pueblo.
John Hoffman, 42, worked in the marketing department at Santa Ana Casino. He admitted that he accessed “Player’s Club” cards, added money to them and gave them to his wife, Michelle Fischer, 42, who passed them on to other gamblers. Hoffman and Fischer received a percentage of the earnings, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a press release. Hoffman pleaded guilty to a felony offense of theft by an employee of a Indian gaming establishment while Fischer pleaded to a misdemeanor offense of theft from an Indian gaming establishment.
