The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians in California plans to spend $1.4 million on its new gaming facility.
The tribe will break ground on the Tortoise Rock Casino next month. The 30,000-square-foot facility will feature 500 slot machines, five table games and two poker tables. Construction will take about nine months. The tribe will host a public hearing on the project on February 7. The tribe operates the Spotlight 29 Casino on a different part of its land base.
