A former leader of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Alabama is helping to organize a protest at the tribe's casino site on Saturday.
William Bailey, a former council member, opposes the $246 million expansion of the Wind Creek Wetumpka. He says the project will harm the Hickory Ground, a sacred and historic Creek site. “The Poarch Creek got it to preserve and they are doing the opposite. They are digging them up,” Bailey told WWNT Radio. Organizers are aligning themselves with the Idle No More movement.
