Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber (D) says approving a non-Indian casino will break promises made to tribes.
Kitzhaber will appear in a campaign ad for It's Still A Bad Idea Committee, asking voters to reject the proposed casino. The committee is funded by the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and theCow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe. "They kept their end of the bargain," a spokesperson for the governor told The Oregonian. "It's wrong to break our agreement." The casino would be authorized if voters approve three separate questions on the November ballot. Get the Story:
