The Coquille Tribe of Oregon is running into more opposition in its bid to open a second casino.
The city council in Medford, Oregon, will send a letter to the Bureau of Indian Affairs expressing concerns about the proposal. But some officials are ready to oppose it altogether. "It's like putting a small country in the city of Medford," council member Karen Blair said during a public meeting, The Medford Mail Tribune reported. The tribe recently acquired two properties in Medford for the casino. A land-into-trust application will be submitted to the BIA. The Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians is also expressing opposition to the casino. Get the Story:
