The Senate Indian Affairs
Committee offered a draft of its Internet gaming bill to members of the National Indian Gaming Association on Wednesday.
Staffers provided a copy of the 49-page bill to tribal leaders who are attending NIGA's legislative summit in Washington, D.C. The summary states that Indian gaming has created 628,000 jobs across the country.
"We recognize the SCIA has worked diligently to provide a discussion draft bill on internet gaming," NIGA Chairman Ernie Stevens Jr. said in response. "Our organization welcomes this opportunity to analyze the discussion draft and we will immediately consult with tribal leadership.”
Internet gaming will be discussed at an SCIA hearing this afternoon at 2:15pm.
