The National Indian Gaming Commission is maintaining its position that the Kialegee Tribal Town of Oklahoma doesn't have jurisdiction over an Indian allotment.
The allotment is owned by two Muscogee sisters who were recently made members of the tribe. But the NIGC said that doesn't automatically grant jurisdiction over the site to the tribe. The tribe was building the Red Clay Casino on the site but a federal judge blocked further construction in response to a lawsuit from the state. A sports bar is being planned instead. Get the Story:
