The city council in Taunton, Massachusetts, will meet Wednesday night to discuss an intergovernmental agreement with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.
Under the deal, the will pay $33 million up front in mitigation costs. The tribe also plans to share about $13 million a year in gaming revenues. The agreement requires ratification by the city council. A vote could come at the meeting tomorrow night. Residents of Taunton will go to the polls on June 9 to say whether they want to host the casino. Get the Story:
