Some local officials and residents say the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe hasn't shared enough information about a proposed casino in southeastern Massachusetts.
The tribe held two public forums last week and another meeting is scheduled for May 22. But with elections looming in two host communities, the lack of details has some worried. “I think people are a little frustrated,” Lisa Pacheco, the chairwoman of the board of selectment in Freetown, told The Boston Globe. “People want something they can sink their teeth into.” In contrast, the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe has offered specifics about its proposed casino.
