The Bureau of Indian Affairs continues to review the Kialegee Tribal Town casino, Assistant Secretary Larry Echo Hawk said in a letter to two lawmakers who are upset about the project.
Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Oklahoma) and Rep. John Sullivan (R-Oklahoma) asked the BIA for information last month. They say Echo Hawk's response indicates the Obama administration is dragging its feet. "This is exactly why the American people are fed up with government," Sullivan told The Tulsa World. The tribe has started building the Red Clay Casino on an Indian allotment. The land is owned by two members of the Muscogee Nation. Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt is suing the Kialegee Tribal Town in hopes of blocking the casino. Get the Story:
