The Seminole Tribe is praising Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi (R) for a legal opinion that backs the Class III gaming compact.
The agreement guarantees the tribe exclusivity for Class III games outside of South Florida. The legal opinion confirms that an expansion of non-Indian gaming would violate the compact and require changes in state law. The opinion was written in response to efforts by some counties outside of South Forida to legalize slot machines through referenda.
