The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians is in discussions for an off-reservation casino in Lansing, Michigan, according to news reports.
The tribe hasn't confirmed talks but Mayor Virg Bernero is on board. "My administration strongly supports the concept of a casino in Lansing because it would have a tremendous positive impact on our local economy,” he said in a statement, The Lansing City Pulse reported. According to Ted O’Dell of the Lansing Jobs Coalition, the tribe and the city are talking about a casino behind the Lansing Center. Sault Ste. Marie is about 286 miles from Lansing. Get the Story:
