Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority chair suspended again
Thursday, September 29, 2011
The chairman of the board of the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming
Authority has been suspended a second time.
Kirk Goodtrack was suspended this summer but a judge ordered SIGA to reinstate him. Now that he's back on the job, board members are making another attempt to permanently fire him.
If the effort succeeds, it will go before all 74 chiefs of the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations. Goodtrack is on next week's agenda, The Saskatoon StarPhoenix reported.
Board members claim Goodtrack has a conflict of interest because he is representing Native plaintiffs in a lawsuit against First Nation casinos.
