Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority chair back on the job
Thursday, September 15, 2011
Kirk Goodtrack will again serve as chairman of the board for the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming
Authority.
A judge ruled that Goodtrack was improperly fired. He said that he hopes the board, which mainly consists of First Nations leaders, can separate politics from business in the future.
Despite accepting the court ruling, the SIGA board issued a statement that said Goodtrack shouldn't have talked to the media about his employment status.
The board also claims Goodtrack, who is an attorney, has a conflict of interest because he represents Native clients with claims against First Nations casinos.
