The Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians is due in court on Wednesday over a gaming dispute with the city of Duluth, Minnesota.
In 1994, the tribe agreed to share 19 percent of gross revenues from the Fond-du-Luth Casino with the city. The tribe has shared over $80 million but stopped payments in 2009, saying the deal was illegal. The National Indian Gaming Commission agreed and issued a notice of violation to the tribe in July.
