A woman who was drinking at the casino owned by the Dry Creek Rancheria Band of Pomo Indians of California died last month in a single car accident.
Amporn Ta, 39, had a blood alcohol level of 0.17 percent. Her death is the first known drunken driving fatality linked to the River Rock Casino. The tribe entered into a contract with California Highway Patrol to increase patrols around the casino. Drunken driving arrests have gone up but authorities say that's due to stronger enforcement. “It wasn’t the huge headache everyone expected,” CHP Officer Jon Sloat told The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat of liquor at the casino.
