The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians in California is reportedly considering a new location for a casino.
In January 2008, the tribe announced plans for a casino and RV park on its reservation. But that project appears to have stalled and now there's another off-reservation site in consideration, The Hi-Desert Sun reported.
The new site is in Joshua Tree. Local officials say they will oppose the tribe's efforts to have the land placed in trust.
The tribe operates the Spotlight 29 Casino, which opened in 1995.
