Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations Chief Guy Lonechild said the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority lacked authority to remove the chairman of the board.
Lonechild said he was "deeply" troubled by the recent vote to oust Kirk Goodtrack from his post. "It isn't within their authority to remove the chairperson," Lonechild told CBC News of the board's recent decision. Most of the board members are First Nations politicians. Lonechild said they should be replaced by professionals in gaming and related fields. Edward Henderson, who won election as chief of the Montreal Lake Cree Nation in March, is serving as the new chair of the SIGA board. Get the Story:
