The White Earth Band of Ojibwe Indians will pursue "all legal means" to collect nearly $20 million from a former gaming partner, Chairwoman Erma J. Vizenor said.
The tribe's court ordered Angelo Medure and Gaming World International to pay the judgment. GWI was supposed to manage the Shooting Star Casino but never provided any services, according to the tribe. “We ask Medure to honor his legal and moral obligation to make things right with the people of White Earth,” Vizenor said. “Tribal officials involved in this conspiracy have been brought to justice and served sentences in prison.
