Gaming interests spent over $800,000 on lobbying in the first quarter of 2011, according to an analysis by the The Orlando Sentinel and The South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Las Vegas Sands spent $135,000 in the first quarter. That was a big jump from the $35,000 spent during the same quarter in 2010. The Seminole Tribe spent about $140,000 while racino operators Pompano Park spent nearly $80,000 and Gulfstream Park spent nearly $105,000. Dog track owner Harrison & Tyner spent almost $100,000.
