A judge in California says the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians must go to trial in August in a gaming case.
Judge Patrick Riley rejected the tribe's motion to dismiss the case. The trial is due to start August 8. At issue is a contract the tribe signed with Sharp Image. The two parties opened a casino in the mid-1990s but it closed after 10 months. The tribe subsequently partnered with Lakes Entertainment to open the $200 million Red Hawk Casino. Sharp Image says it is owed $100 million under the old contract. Get the Story:
