The Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation in Oregon will close an existing casino and open a temporary one in hopes of generating more revenue.
The Kah-Nee-Ta Resort & Casino will be relocated to a new site off a major highway. The move will provide a "short-term financial shot in the arm" for the tribe, Secretary-Treasurer Charles Jody Calica said in a press release. Calica said the tribe will continue to pursue an off-reservation casino in Cascade Locks, which is part of the tribe's ceded territory. The environmental impact statement is still under review at the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Get the Story:
