The Bay Mills Indian Community doesn't plan on building an off-reservation casino in Vanderbilt, Michigan, even as some people say they would welcome the development.
The tribe recently purchased more than 45 acres next to a major interstate. Chairman Jeff Parker said the land will be used for hunting. "It's no secret we have wanted to be a part of the community for a long time," Parker told UpNorthLive. "We have nothing to hide, our trucks are parked right outside the building."
