Mayor Russ Kramer said he's tried unsuccessfully to lure businesses to the city. Indian gaming appears to be the only way to spur development, he said. “Speaking for myself — I can’t speak for my council members — but I think it would be a great opportunity for the city,” Kramer told The Omaha World-Herald. The tribe owns 4.5 acres in the city. The land was placed in trust in 2003 and the National Indian Gaming Commission said it can be used for gaming. A federal judge disagreed but the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and told the NIGC to look at the issue one more time. Get the Story:
