Communities will see decline in Pokagon Band casino revenue

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Local communities will see fewer dollars from the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians after the tribe reported a decline in slot machine revenues for the first time in three years.

Slot revenues at the Four Winds Casino fell $25 million over the last fiscal year. The tribe shares 2 percent of revenues with local communities so they will take a small hit.

"It probably feels more significant for them than what we notice on a month-to-month basis," Mary Dunbar, the executive director of the Pokagon Fund, which receives a share of the revenues, told WKZO-TV.
