The United Auburn Indian Community of California debuted a new hotel, spa, pool and amphitheater at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort on Monday.
The project completed a major expansion of the casino. The tribe hired 700 new employees for the hotel alone. "They are good neighbors. They need to be thanked," Rocklin Mayor Scott Yuill said at the grand opening, The Sacramento Bee reported. "We are lucky that they are there," Roseville Councilwoman Carol Garcia told the paper. Prior to the expansion, the tribe signed a new Class III gaming compact that authorized more slot machines. The tribe agreed to share revenues and address local impacts of the casino. Get the Story:
