Tuesday, May 11, 2010

The Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe of Washington has delayed plans to expand its casino.

The tribe opened the $4 million Elwha River Casino in March 2009. It currently offers only slot machines.

"We opened in a down market," general manager Steve Durkin said at a Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce, The Peninsula Daily News reported.

Durkin said the tribe will wait three or four more years to build a bigger casino.
